Anniversary Questions

Yesterday I posted our first anniversary pictures and decided to wait until today to share the questions I had gathered a couple of weeks before our anniversary. Since Nick and I would not get to spend that day or night together, I went ahead and sent him a card and 13 questions so he could open it on October 7. He really liked the idea and was ready to discuss them over the phone that day! I convinced him to wait until that weekend so we could see each others reactions as we answered the questions out loud.

We answered the questions as though the other were asking them. It was such a good exercise for us. I never want to be the married couple that gets awkward when the tough questions come up. And I want those tough questions to come up more than every few years at a marriage conference. We laughed and blushed over these questions. I knew that I felt so much love and respect for Nick, but I found out just how highly Nick thinks of me as well after a year of marriage. I can't wait to see how the answers change over the years (No, I'm not posting our answers). We found out we really enjoyed this and I hope you might too! It's good for anytime of the year.

Anniversary Date at Flight in downtown Memhpis

1. Do my actions show you that apart from Jesus, I have no higher love?

2. How well are we serving together?

3. How well am I encouraging your spiritual growth?

4. How well am I maximizing the time we have together?

5. How is our prayer life together?

6. How well am I supporting you to grow in your gifts and skills?

7. Are we disciplining our children well together? (My answer was "I hope our children listen better than Rosie")

8. How well am I caring for your friends?

9. How is our physical expression of our love?

10. What can I do to love you better?

11. What is our biggest accomplishment?

12. Three Words to describe this year.

13. What was our most fun outing together?

That's it for the anniversary portion my blog this year! Being military really makes you realize that the dates don't matter. It how you maximize the time you have together. This life is too short to be unhappy. Our prayer as a couple is to always out serve each other.

Have a great day! I'm on the way to see Nick in Gulfport then.....WE ARE HEADING TO CALIFORNIA! I'll be back in about a week until the final move. We will hopefully have a place to live this time next week!

365 Days of Love

I'm finally doing my anniversary post.  I wasn't the best wife/blogger seeing as I barely even got to post a picture on our anniversary, which was October 7. But here it is.. With pictures from our photo shoot!

This has been absolutely the best year of my life. So much changed. So much happened. We grew so much, together and individually . Nick has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. I can do things I never thought I would ever do. He lets me learn on my own and only steps in when necessary. We experienced trials that felt like mountains at the time, but looking back I only see Gods hand.  Who knew one year could contain so much love. I love that I can call the first year of marriage, my favorite year so far.

Nick was able to visit me in MS this past weekend. We had our anniversary dinner at Flight in downtown Memphis. YUM. I would recommend it to anyone celebrating something special! We did a photo shoot with my best friend who did absolutely the best job with our photos. A huge ant hill, lots of cow poop, miniature horses, cake icing in my hair, gigantic spider webs and lots of laughs filled our night. We had fun. Thank you, Kayla!

My anniversary gift was the "Forever Fellowship" Renaldo bracelet..So perfect!

Yes, my dress was untied. Just another funny detail of the day!

Tomorrow I will be posting the questions that I wrote down for us to answer as we had dinner at Flight. I can't wait to share them with you! They are going to be so fun to answer at each anniversary. I feel like it will really hold us accountable to how we treat each other as the number of anniversaries grow. I can't wait to look back at how our marriage has grown over the years! Stay tuned!

4th of July Festivites

Hey ya'll! Hope your 4th was fun and full of fireworks! Destin has gotten tons and tons of rain so most of the firework shows that were scheduled for last night were canceled! We didn't let it ruin our 4th though! We sent word that our grill would light at 6PM and to bring what you want to eat. It's really the easiest way to get a group of sailors together. I am pretty sure at some point there were 20 people here in our little home. It was so much fun! You don't understand how much I love these people over at my house. The family atmosphere in this group of guys is something I wish everyone could experience. I am getting teary eyed just thinking of how sad it will be to split ways in August.

It was your normal night of story telling and feasting on steak and baked beans. I also got festive and made cookie dough filled cupcakes and brownies. I didn't have one left, thank goodness! I also made some taco soup since I was trying to eat halfway healthy and I knew there would be lots of temptations in my kitchen. That crockpot full of soup was gone by the end of the night as well, so I'll just have to make some more for the weekend!

Rosie slept so good last night. She had 20 big brothers to play with last night. I think she had more fun than anyone here. Sweet Kyra came over and had her first experience with Rosie. Besides Rosie trying to give her a french kiss (gross!), Rosie was sweet and Kyra just clapped those hands with excitement every time she saw Rosie!

Here are just a few pictures from the night

We didnt let the rain stop us from grilling. Above is Nick's creation with a tarp.

 Happy 4th from the Bobos!
