friend time

Well hello!! I just got back from a little arm workout and I'm waiting a liiittle while longer to start dinner. My sidekick and I are sitting on the couch watching some evening tv. Rosie has been going to Doggy Kindergarten and is really learning a lot. Ok, ok...I'm learning a lot. We have most of the major commands down. Heeling and lay down are what we need to keep working on daily. When I say "lay down", she looks down at the ground then back up at me a couple times. I feel her thinking,"You want me to lay down......there.....in the dirt...?". Yes, Rosie. You are a dog, whether you want to deal with it or not.

So if you follow my instagram (if you don't, you should!), you saw that the beginning of the week was spent with my sweet friend, Kayla, in Gulf Shores, AL! She was my maid of honor and has been the best friend to me in the past 5 years. Since we both have moved, we hardly ever see each other. I have not seen her since Christmas, so a couple of days of friend time was good for the soul. I love our talks and how easy our friendship is. I know in years to come we won't be able to physically be by each others sides during the special moments in life (babies, new jobs, moving, etc..), but we will always be able to keep our friendship alive and strong. I love how our talks always go back to Christ and what God is doing in our lives. I love to look back on how we grew in Christ together and have encouraged each other every chance we get! Thank you for your friendship, Kayla! You don't know what it means to me!

My grandmother's recipe! The best strawberry cake ever!

Here's a glance of how much fun we have together..no matter the silliness ;)

Baywatch....we know

One more thing that I never posted! Nick and I went kayaking last Saturday! Sooo much fun! I think one secret to marriage is to go outside and do something together. We had so much fun and saw a sting ray, jelly fish, and some kind of fish that Nick knew. I tried to find the dolphins, but no luck! Nick advised me to leave my camera and phone in the car, so no action shots. We plan on going again this weekend so maybe I'll sneak some better pictures!

I promise to update this blog more than I have this past week. I applaud you full time working women! How do you keep up with this thing? I really need to make it more of a priority but traveling has just worn me out the last 2 weeks! I hope you all have a happy Thursday evening with who ever you spend it with! If it's just your dog, that's ok!!! They are pretty good listeners! Talk to ya'll soon (I promise!!).

So glad to see that you got to spend some time with Kayla!
And go, Rosie! Our little Luci is nearly 5 and she JUST learned to lay on command. Good thing she's a cutie, huh? Hope doggy kindergarten continues to go well!
