the first one

Hello all!

I am hoping to use this blog to keep my friends and family back home updated, and I also want to be able to connect with other ladies in the military. The past 5 months have been a bit of culture shock for me. I married my handsome groom on Sunday afternoon and I was carried over our threshold by 6 pm on Monday evening.  "But you moved from Mississippi to Destin, FL....really???". I am from Southern Belle, USA. I knew everyone and their great aunt Lucy's dog. Here, I literally did not know a single soul within 6 hours from home. I can already say it was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I learned to lean on God more than any other time in my life. Those days of loneliness caused me to look to the only One who could give me comfort. And He didn't deny me one ounce of that.

Since Christmas, I have finally started to figure out this whole military thing. It's awesome. It's hard. It's the best/worst thing you can be involved in. No, I haven't dealt with deployment yet. I am blessed to have at least a solid year of wedded bliss with the hubby. I have made at least 3 sweet friends here in Florida. 3 friends??? Wow! Let me tell you.. when you make that first friend, you literally can't wait for your husband to get home from work to say, "I made a friend today!!!!".

Lately, we have been having fun playing parents to a new baby Cocker Spaniel named Rosie. She grabbed a hold of our hearts the day we brought home that ball of fur. We just can't get enough of that little mouse. Our big dog, Captain, has actually grown fond of her so we are one big, happy family now!

I can't wait to let ya'll in on some of the funny details of this crazy journey. We get our orders in April/ May and I am soo very excited to find out the next destination on our map. East coast, West coast, overseas... we shall see! You can bet I'll be posting on that day!

Thanks for reading and Ill be posting soon!

Victoria

Yay! This is exciting, and every bit of this is SO TRUE. Maybe I shouldn't assume here, but...I'm so blessed to be one of the three friends!
