33 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
33 Weeks

Baby size?
Almost the size of a butternut squash. I only say that because I have no idea what a Durian fruit is. Over 4 pounds now!

Cravings?
Sweet everything.

Aversions?
None.

Symptoms?
Back hurts more everyday.. My numb spot is getting bigger. Very uncomfortable to sit because he is in my ribs on the right side. If I'm home and not up moving, I'm lying down on my left side.

My heart rate wants to shoot up quickly now so I look like a slacker in my spin and muscle pump classes. Oh well! I'm still moving pretty well for a pregnant lady. Gotta keep baby safe.

Mood?
Irritable and then happy. I'm not liking all this rolling around I have to do if I want to get out of bed or off the couch.

Looking forward to?
Women's fellowship tonight and Breastfeeding class tomorrow!

MY CHAIR IS IN AND NICK IS PICKING IT UP AFTER WORK!!!

What's new?
Just getting larger by the day I think! I finished a couple of DIY things for Carter's room. Once I get my chair, we can hang some shelves and finish up! Since we are moving in November, Im trying to only have what I need for the first 2-3 months.

My medela is in the mail! It's on sale at Target right now! With the help of the sale, a coupon, and a target GC, we only paid 70 dollars for it. I was so excited!

I'm going to pick up my cloth diapers this week! I can't wait to see them all! Anyone have a favorite brand?? We are going with mostly Thirsties for now!

Nick this week?
Training, training, training! God is so good though. As busy as he is now, he will slow down and  be around for birth and after. I know he will be such a help and I can't wait to have bonding time with Carter AND him!

I'll be sharing my maternity pictures with you soon! I'm getting that post together today when I have some time!

Have a good week!

30 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
30 Weeks!

Baby size?
Cucumber. Packing on the pounds. I am hoping for him to have chunky monkey legs!

Cravings?
Everything in MS

Aversions?
None.

Symptoms?
Back hurts. I have a small numb patch on my stomach. I keep thinking something wet has dripped on me in that spot (since I do spill everything on my belly these days). Its just that numb, cold, tingly feeling. I think my belly is just expanding a lot lately. Loading on the lotion and water so hopefully no stretch marks. Ive made it this far without any!

Mood?
Good!

Looking forward to?
Baby showers this weekend! I had the sweetest shower last Saturday hosted by some of my closest friends! I will be uploading those pictures soon!

What's new?
Tuesday afternoon, my friend Kayla and I headed over to Nicole's house for a maternity shoot. Oh. My. Gosh. It was so fun. You NEED to go check out Nicole's blog and her business blog, 314 Productions. Her and her husband have started a videography business, and God is just opening doors left and right. We didn't do a maternity video Tuesday, but she is just as professional with still shots as she is with her wedding/lifestyle videos! She sent them to me this morning and I am completely in love! I never thought I'd feel pretty being pregnant but I actually feel pretty in these pictures! I'll do a maternity picture post soon! I don't know which ones I'll choose to post because I seriously love every single one of them. Thank you, Nicole!

Here are a few she sent me. Seriously, I am having a hard time choosing.

Nick this week?
He is in San Diego training up. I miss him so much and wish he could be here in MS with me. I can't wait for Christmas when the 3 of us will be here all together.

Thanks for stopping by!

29 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
29 Weeks

Baby size?
Acorn squash. Between 2.5 and 3 pounds!

Cravings?
Sweet stuff. Having to really control myself so I don't blow up in the next 11 weeks! For the first time in my life, Id rather have brownies more than french fries.

Aversions?
None.

Symptoms?
Back hurts. Short of breath. The waddle is happening. Especially at the end of long walks.

Mood?
Good!

Looking forward to?
Mississippi! Im going back for 20 days! Baby showers, maternity pictures, family time, friend time, favorite restaurant(s) time. So many fun things coming this way in the next month!! What I'm not looking forward to is a 6 hour flight with Rosie in tow. Any tips on flying with doggies? First timer here.

What's new?
My blogger friends threw 3 of us preggos a baby shower on Saturday morning! It was so sweet! We had yummy food, decorated baby hangers, and opened precious gifts! It was so fun and I can't believe how sweet these girls are! Hopefully Ill get a group shot soon from one of the bloggers that brought a camera! My camera case was under some of Nick's clothes and I couldn't find it until I got back home from the shower. Bummer!

Carter's movement are very strong now. I can tell a difference every new week. I can't believe I have over 2 pounds of baby just moving and grooving everyday. The doc says it is time to start counting movements for an hour a day. He goes way past the 10 kick mark though, so Mommy feels good about it! I can feel him move on both sides of my belly at the same time now. So crazy how long he is!

Nick this week?
Training, training, training! I don't even get to talk to him during the week! A little glance into deployment life I guess. He is enjoying it though! I can't wait to see him when I get back from Mississippi on the 30th.

My belly is starting to morph into weird shapes now that Carter is stronger. He got to finally really see it and spit out "Whoa, alien!".

27 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
27 Weeks!
(I did a 5k!! Ok, I walked a 5K. But it was speed walk with some wives and they never slowed down, so neither did I.)

Baby size?
A cauliflower. Around 2 pounds and 14 inches!

Cravings?
Sweet stuff. Probably because I actually have allowed myself sweet treats more than I ever have before. So my body is getting used to it. And loving it. I try to substitute yogurt and granola and only having dessert on the weekends.

Aversions?
None. Everything tastes good. Salads are even tasting really good! Thank goodness.

Symptoms?
I'm pretty achy in the hip/pubic bone/lower back region. It's mostly on my walks and when I get up after sitting or laying too long. Can't lay on my back or I get short of breath. Bathroom breaks constantly. Calf cramps have started. I apparently stretch my legs multiple times during my sleep and if I stretch with my toes pointed, a cramp catches me. But as soon as I flex my foot back its fine. Just surprises me at 2 am.

Mood?
It's a day to day thing! You never know! Well, Nick never knows.

Looking forward to?
Doctor's appointment today at 1! Nick has the day off so he gets to go as well. We haven't listened to Carter's heartbeat recently so that will be fun as always. I'm supposed to have my glucose test today so I plan on bringing my kindle. Hopefully will be able to schedule our labor and delivery tour so that Nick can be there.

I get to go back to Mississippi AGAIN in 2 weeks! 2 1/2 glorious weeks packed full of showers and family/friend time. Last time it'll be just me in Mississippi. Crazy!

What's new?
One of my best friend's Lauren (from Alaskan Adventures) had her sweet baby boy!! She probably won't be posting too much on her blog, but I bet she wouldn't mind you following her Instagram to see Baby Eli! He is beautiful and bringing them so much joy! Im loving the pictures and videos she sends me! Makes me really excited!

Nick this week?
Ran a leg in the Bomb Suit Relay at the EOD Warrior Dash yesterday which was Memorial Day! It was so much fun to watch them put on those suits and run a mile. It was a normal day in San Diego, so I'm sure the temp in that suit was outrageously hot.

Nursery Update?
My upholstered glider is ordered and should be here 6-8 weeks! Im excited to get it before Carter gets here so I can spend some quiet hours just rocking and praying over that room. Once the chair gets here, we will hang shelves and put some finishing touches on the rest of the room. Ive got a few things Ill be working on for his walls while we wait for the chair. While I was in MS, mom and I picked out fabric for the bedskirt so that's going to be made in the next month or so also! This week his nursery is a holding room for things I am selling in a garage sale this Saturday. Hopefully it'll be the last of the junk that is taking up unnecessary room in our closets. So ready for November so we can have actual storage in our new place!

That's it for this week! Carter is growing like a weed and getting close to my ribs. I'll be sore pretty soon, I'm sure! We love our little man and we are both having so much fun with this pregnancy. I love what its done to our marriage already!

Have a great Tuesday!

24 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
24 weeks! 6 Months!!

Baby size?
A cantaloupe. Ive got about a pound and a half of human life in me. How amazing is that?? And even though I decided not to do my weight gain (Do I reallllly want you to know how much weight I have to lose in 4 months??), Ive hit my 10-11 pound mark. Coming from a girl who has a little mental issue with weight gain, Im handling it pretty well!

Cravings?
Eh, just whatever. Food is good.

Aversions?
None. I feel normal. No more feeling so hungry that I could throw up.

Symptoms?
Back issues. A few headaches. On Wednesday I had to take the whole afternoon to rest. Like lay on the couch and watch tv until dinner. And then only put enough effort in to eat left over taco salad because Nick was gone until 12 PM. I was soo tired! We registered on Saturday and Sunday I didn't get much of a break either somehow. I. Was. Tired. My body shut down on me but I feel fine now!

Mood?
I cried on the way to church Sunday. Couldn't tell you what it was about. Other than that happy and healthy! Have to be thankful for that!

Looking forward to?
Something next week. I can't say though! Im like realllllllly excited and can't wait to share! I know your like, you've already announced pregnancy and gender, what else? It's actually nothing life altering. Just something I am beyond ready for!

Mother's Day. Something about C in my belly on that day just makes me happy. I know that day will be so special in the next few years.

Oh, a new blog design coming your way! Get ready for fresh new changes!

One more big one! One of my very best friends, Lauren, is due next week!!!!!! I love this girl so much. We met at a bible study in Destin and her friendship has become so, so special to me! We text everyday still and she always has an encouraging word for me. Also, her family is awesome. They have sent me encouraging notes in the past few months and I can't tell you how it has brightened my day! I only met them once! What a blessing! Anyways, go see her cute belly (seriously, she is the cutest preggo) and follow along her Alaskan Adventures as Eli enters this world. I can't wait to see her be Mama!!!!

What's new?
Rosie got a haircut. And a choke collar (I like the name pinch collar better). I know, aren't I the worst. She is a nightmare to walk with and this fixed the problem in literally 10 seconds. Hey, the moment she stops pulling, it stops pinching.

I love maternity shorts! Wish they were acceptable after pregnancy.

Carter is KICKING. All the time! He is still low so Im not hurting yet.

Nick this week?
Doing crazy Navy things. He comes home with fun stories all of the time. I love that he loves what he does.

Nursery Update?
So since the beginning of looking at boy nurseries, I knew I had to have these prints I saw on a nursery blog. I somehow figured out what shop they were from and ordered the DAY I found them. I even scored a 40% off my order that day!

This is one of 4 I chose. I did 3 8x10s and 1 5x7. I love the whimsical old fashioned style. I can't wait to get them all framed and a shelf to put them on. They are so classy and remind me of old storybooks like the original Winnie the Pooh and Dumbo. It's all coming together very slowly, but I know exactly what I want to do. I just want a classy boy nursery that is soothing for the both of us. The only thing I might change is the frame for this print. I think its a bit to small. Please go check out Trafalgar's Square Etsy Shop. I am also going to purchase their new book Oliver's Tree at Barnes and Noble soon. All the sweet characters are in the book. I love love love it!

Have a great week!

22 Week Bumpdate

How far along?
22 weeks!

Baby size?
A Papaya

Cravings?
I cut a watermelon yesterday and it was the best thing ever. Is there an amount of watermelon that is considered too much to eat in one sitting? Because I could eat a whole one. Still carbs. Things like pasta or rice. Oh and I made my mom's carrot cake for Easter and it was the bomb.

Aversions?
Nothing really. I do wish I loved my homemade taco salad more. Lettuce has to be JUST right.

Symptoms?
Backaches are beginning. Im just not used to this belly! Im starting to heave myself up when I'm getting up from floor exercises….or the couch. Lots of bathroom breaks. And shortness of breath still. That's not going away. None of these are going away anytime soon.

Mood?
Pretty good! Besides the occasional emotion moment…I actually can't remember the last time I cried.

Looking forward to?
Blogger Brunch in Del Mar this weekend! We have a big group now and need to meet some of the new girls! Plus, I love brunch.

Redoing a craigslist find! We finally have a coffee table. I need to get it sanded on top and freshly painted. I am doing it in Behr Swiss Cream and making it chalk paint. The recipe I use works great! I'll probably do some Annie Sloan dark wax, which I haven't used before so we will see!

What's new?
My expanding belly. Ive finally gotten to the point where some of the more aggressive strangers are asking. I was at the gym yesterday and randomly got told I shouldn't let my heart rate get above 140 (I wasn't doing any exercise at this point, mind you). I just smile and say thank you….
I honestly feel like Ive been told working out during pregnancy is worse than sitting on my booty eating twinkies.  I'm healthy and excited that I have worked out my entire pregnancy so far!

Nick this week?
Listening to him pray for Carter by name is the absolute best. the best.

Waiting in Wonder Memory Verse

Love is not rude, it is not self- seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

1 Corinthians 13:5-6

Woo I needed that verse this week! Sometimes it feels like a battle to love, but I always am reminded of God's UNCONDITIONAL love. That's what I need to show.

My late 20 week update

Surprise surprise, I'm late to post! Last week and weekend took every bit of energy I possibly had in my body. Our moms came into town Wednesday to get ready for the gender reveal party!!!! So there was that plus my body decided to get sick the day of the party, of course. But thanks to my Doterra oils, I wasn't sick for long. So here is my 20 week update! (Im 21 weeks today).

(In love with this dresser we got on craigslist and redid! And all before Mom and Mrs Jan left so they got to see it all finished! It looks a little more blue in person and I am just loving the result!)

How far along?
20 weeks- Halfway there!

Baby size?
We've got ourselves a little banana! Yum!

Cravings?
Carbs and sweet stuff. Before I was pregnant, I of course loved dessert (I'd rather have fries), but I never thought of it on my own…like craved for it! I got some low in sugar popsicles so my body doesn't completely go down the drain. I'm also LOVING the coldest thing I can find. I don't know if its just super dry here or what but I am an angry thirsty most of the day. And water is barely doing the job. An icey sounds like heaven to me right now!

Aversions?
Not really. Weird coffee smells. Cough cough- Mom, when you drink butter toffee coffee ;)

Symptoms?
Ya'll….I almost don't want to tell you. But. I haven't had a headache or migraine in a week and a half. I'm almost waiting for one to hit today because I shared this news. Out of breath also. Also, being careful during workouts to stay off my back and only stick to planks and core movements for abs.

Mood?
Happy! Tired still! One day this week I actually didn't take a nap and I was very impressed with myself!

Looking forward to?
My centering program appointment on Tuesday! This is my first one since I was late getting on the list. I go to these instead of a 15 minute appointment with my doctor. The centering program is a team of nurse practitioners, midwives, and doctors that hold a 2 hour group appointment. It's not all "share the love" I promise! You have belly time, which is just you and the doc or midwife, so it is somewhat personal which is the only thing that concerned me at first. You then go to a group of ladies whom you are with in these classes until birth. You are all around the same delivery date. This is the time where questions can be asked and you find out way more than you ever would in a 15 minute appointment.. Im sure ladies will ask questions that I never would have thought of!

I know a lot of people want their doctor ONLY through out pregnancy and especially birth. Just like everything else in the military though, I'm learning I will have to be flexible. When I deliver at Balboa, I will get the team on duty. It could be my doctor or not. But I trust that God will provide whatever needs I have with whatever doctor or midwife is in there. I'm not nervous or feel loss of control. It's not like we humans have control anyways ;). I know God will take care of me and I am praying for the team that delivers us already. It makes me very relieved I do not have to be in control. If I didn't trust all the doctors at Balboa, I wouldn't go there. But I do and I am excited to see how it all works out!

What's new?
We had our gender reveal (a long post on that coming soon) and WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!! Our hearts are full. We will have our Carter arrive in late August and we can't wait!

Nick this week?
Did you read above? He is over the moon!!!

Waiting in Wonder Memory Verse
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body
Psalm 139:15-16

18 Week Bumpdate

How far along?

18 weeks!

Baby size?
A sweet potato

Cravings?
Sweets are more common nowadays. Soft serve ice cream is always on my mind but I can control it pretty well. I made red beans and rice in the crock pot this week and it was yummy! I don't think I have ever had the urge to make it, so I consider that a craving. My body is wanting dairy, so I'm guessing thats where the ice cream is coming from.

Aversions?
None really. I just thought about it and nothing has sounded bad for about a week and a half.

Symptoms?
Headaches are still strong but lessening. I got something from my doctor that is working way better and finally stopped the cycle of everyday migraines. Now its only every other day ha! The start of this week brought a shortness of breath with it. When I am not doing anything, I really feel like I need to yawn so I can get a deep breath. It's slowing down my workouts because less oxygen means less power. Spin class this morning was no fun but I got through it and felt way better after. I even cleaned the house at 6 am afterwards! Baby is just pushing things aside in there so Im sure there is just less room to catch a good breath.

Mood?
Up and down. More ups than downs though! Probably because my husband is back home!!

Looking forward to?
First, our moms are coming to town next week!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell Im excited? And that means…..gender reveal is next week! I go in for my ultrasound at 7:30 am next friday and at 7pm (Pacific!), we will find out what colors we will be using the rest of this pregnancy! I will be posting the Ustream link if you would like to tune in as well! We will be finding out the gender when everyone else does. I can't wait to see our reactions in the pictures.

Nick this week?
HOME!!!!!!! He had Friday off, so we went and saw God's Not Dead. Oh soooo good! I will probably see it again soon! Such a motivation to speak the truth to those around us and a reminder that he is so so active our life!

What's new?
Baby is moving! I don't remember the exact moment it first happened but Ive been feeling this twitching and I just know thats it. I love telling Nick that Baby is kicking. Im sure I couldn't feel it with my hands on my stomach yet but Ive been trying to :). I can never get there quick enough to see.

Actually loving my skin right now. Ive noticed that red tone coming out (Im normally very  olive green year round), I'm guessing from the extra blood my body is producing. Plus Ive been getting some sun while on my porch in the afternoons. Why does a tan make you feel so good?? Having my hair done yesterday also lifted my spirits completely! Cut and highlight did the trick!

Also, God blessed us with the sweetest surprise the weekend before Nick got home. A friend from church brought me a number to call and said a lady was done with her crib that she had for her grand babies and just wanted it out of her house. That means free. A free PERFECT crib that I probably would have wanted if I had seen it in store and probably would have been a little over budget. It is absolutely gorgeous and exactly my taste! I am so so in love! And my handy husband put it together with no instructions in 10 minutes. It was so fun!

Overjoyed at the thought of a baby taking the attention away.
